France is a wealthy EU country and therefore attracts many immigrants moving in search of a better life, particularly from North and West African countries. In fact, more people wish to migrate to France than France is willing to accept, though it is often not easy for new arrivals to fit in. Poverty and a sense of rootlessness await many.
FELM supports work among immigrants in Marseilles. The Protestant Diaconal Association, Marhaba, provides diaconal services and spiritual support, especially to immigrant women and children. Through this work God’s word is shared and immigrants are helped in becoming accustomed to French society.
