Local churches and organisations understand their communities, cultures and priorities best. Felm works with partner churches and organisations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Our partnerships encompass church work, peacebuilding, development cooperation, humanitarian assistance and advocacy.
We support our partners in developing locally owned solutions that reflect the needs and aspirations of their communities. Local leadership is essential for achieving sustainable change. Partner churches also lead the development of theology rooted in their own contexts.
Together with our partners, we support people experiencing poverty, discrimination, violence and other forms of hardship, including people from minority groups and different faith communities. Our shared work promotes peace, human rights, social and economic justice, care for creation and the responsible use of resources.
How we work with partners
We respect each partner’s independent identity, governance, constitution and statutes. We value the distinct strengths that each partner brings and agree together on roles, responsibilities and decision-making in our shared work.
- Plan, monitor and review our work together. We agree on shared goals, monitor progress and report regularly.
- Keep one another informed. We communicate transparently and timely about changes that may affect our shared work.
- Act lawfully and prevent corruption. We comply with applicable laws and take active measures to prevent, identify and address corruption. Felm and its partners are accountable for their joint work to their governing bodies, constituencies and relevant authorities.
- Identify and manage risks. We regularly identify and assess risks arising from our work, take steps to prevent and mitigate harm, and protect everyone involved.
- Respect confidentiality. We safeguard confidential information and do not disclose one another’s internal matters publicly without prior agreement.
Felm and its partners have zero tolerance for sexual abuse and harassment, discrimination, child abuse and abuse of power at every level of our work. We identify, prevent and address safeguarding and workplace safety risks and take action whenever concerns arise.
