Safeguarding and child protection

Everyone involved in Felm’s work has the right to be safe, respected and protected from harm. Safeguarding helps us uphold these rights, prevent abuse and address the power imbalances that can place people at risk.

Felm has zero tolerance for abuse and misconduct. We prevent and respond to all forms of exploitation, abuse and inappropriate behaviour, including sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH).

Across our programmes and partnerships, we identify and reduce risks and strengthen safeguarding practices. Everyone involved in our work shares responsibility for safeguarding.

Child protection

Children have the right to grow up in a safe environment, free from violence, abuse and neglect. Guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Felm respects these rights and prioritises the best interests of the child across all its activities.

In each country where we work, Felm contributes to child protection, by preventing harm to children through safer recruitment, risk assessments and clear guidelines for behaviour and communication. We also promote children’s participation and ensure that their voices are heard in matters that affect them.

All Felm employees must follow Felm’s Child Safeguarding Policy. Our partners commit to following the policy as well.

Reporting misconduct

Concerns or suspicions of misconduct, abuse or breaches of Felm’s guidelines must be reported without delay. Reports submitted through Felm’s safe and confidential reporting channel are handled promptly and responsibly.
